NEW STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN DVD DOCUMENTARY (Volume 2 of 2)STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN: LONESTAR 1984-1990 (1 hour 48 minutes) For those who bought the first volume of this UK-produced documentary, it has been a long wait for volume two. I had only 100 advance copies available and as of May 25 I have 5 copies left. Order below.
Here is an excerpt from the press release on the first volume from 2014: "This film reveals and dissects the formative years of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s career – his influences, his first recordings and the bands with whom he honed his craft – and traces the history of Texas blues itself, identifying Vaughan’s place within this larger tradition. It is the journey of both a musical form and the single-minded musician who brought it firmly back into the spotlight after decades of neglect. Featuring rare archive footage, exclusive interviews, contributions from the musicians with whom Stevie Ray worked and the people who knew him best, seldom seen photographs and a host of other features which all at once provide for the finest document on the celebrated late guitarist yet to emerge."
The producers conducted new interviews for this documentary across the United States, focusing on the development of Stevie's music. I just finished watching it, and if you liked the first one, you'll like this one. This second volume includes interviews of Janna Lapidus, producer Jim Gaines and manager Alex Hodges among others who appeared in the first DVD: Reese Wynans, Denny Freeman, Angela Strehli, and others.
Please note I will not be able to ship anything from March 15-21, so get your orders in before that. I began shipping on March 6, and all orders are filled within 24 hours. One final note: The DVDs I received still have the error in the title "1984-1989" which should be "1984-1990." The producer has corrected this in the images used in publicity, so I assume the DVD packages will be corrected also. Maybe these are going to be "collectible" first run copies. As long as the "Buy Now" buttons appear below, the are still DVDs available.
Thanks and enjoy the movie!
