Autographs

I am very selective about which autographs I will acquire. All autographs I sell are guaranteed genuine for as long as you own them. See my comments about buying autographs on the Collecting Advice page. Prices of these autographs are usually going to range upward from $600. If your budget is less than $600, there are some beautiful forgeries in internet auctions from $20 to $395 almost every day. Photos are clickable for larger images.
No autographs for sale at the moment. I have a couple of customers who are buying just about every autograph I put up for sale. You'll have to watch regularly and move quickly to get one before they do.

Miscellaneous Items

OWN A PIECE OF STEVIE'S NUMBER ONE STRAT!

Yes, you read it correctly. Stevie's Number One Strat is probably the most recognizable guitar in history. An extremely rare opportunity to own part of it.

STEVIE'S GUITAR PICKS !!

The investment quality of Stevie's picks, and the flood of fake picks, has driven up the price of the real thing. There just doesn't seem to be a ceiling on the market value of SRV picks. In late April 2008, two people bid up the price of a multicolor pick in an internet auction to $1175 (the seller's story of Stevie flicking the pick from the stage included statements which were clearly erroneous, but that didn't seem to bother the highest bidders). There are still occasional opportunities to get a genuine pick for under $400, and by all means strike if you get that opportunity. If you don't want to wait, and want to be sure it's the real thing, here you go. Because of the proliferation of fake SRV picks, and that my primary sources close to Stevie have no more, there is no guarantee I will offer any more after these. Click on the photo at right to see prices which are based on relative rarity. Notes on the picks are below.

Fender medium red pick: This is the only pick used by Stevie that I am selling out of my personal collection. The amount of wear is nominal from use by Stevie to make some of the most amazing guitar music in history, but a very rare opportunity to obtain a part of Stevie's used gear. This one obtained from one of Stevie's roadies. $1995.

"Confetti" pick: These picks were ordered for Stevie in late June 1989.  These picks are red, white, blue and black, and should not be confused with the more colorful "multi's." Stevie's full name is printed in gold. One left. $750

Red pick  is from the late 1980s, Stevie's name in gold on two lines. SOLD

The multicolor pick is from 1985-1988.  I have sold the one in the photo, but I have a similar one for sale.  $850

White pick is from the late 1980's, Stevie's name in gold on three lines. $750

Purple pick is said to be more rare because, although Stevie definitely played with some of them, he is said not to have liked the delrin material, and there was allegedly only one gross made for him. It is in excellent condition. $850

The other picks:
Henry Garza of Los Lonely Boys - only 144 of these picks were made for Henry in December 2003. $50
John Mayer - promo pick for "Heavier Things" CD, silhouette of Mayer on reverse. One left. $10

GUITARS

hamtone25.jpg (73596 bytes) REPLICA OF STEVIE'S HAMILTONE GUITAR - See the photos of the one built for me by James Hamilton on the Gear page of this site. These are as nearly identical to Stevie's as can be, made by the same luthier. Stevie's was commissioned by Billy Gibbons as a gift to Stevie and made by James Hamilton in 1984. These guitars are strictly hand made custom guitars, and are exceptionally beautiful with great tone. Examples of this guitar have sold for up to $8000. January 30, 2008: ALERT! Over the past several months there have been sales on eBay (and possibly elsewhere) of copies of Stevie's Hamiltone guitar, the one with Stevie's name inlaid in the neck. Jim Hamilton, who made Stevie's guitar, has alerted me that he did NOT make the guitars appearing on eBay, and that they differ from his guitars (and Stevie's) in important respects. If you bought one which does not come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Jim, you bought a copy made by someone else. Until Jim gets this situation sorted out I am currently unable to order genuine Hamiltone guitars. Hopefully this is temporary.

REPLICAS OF NUMBER 1: I have added a new page (HERE) regarding a replica of Number One which is better (in my opinion) and more affordable than the Fender Custom Shop model. Please note that a limited edition package including one of these guitars is now available. It is priced far under the going rate for the Fender Custom Shop guitars, and is a much more accurate reproduction. Follow the link to my page about the guitars, then the link there to the luthier's website for more info and ordering.

charley-003.jpg (135650 bytes) REPLICA OF "CHARLEY": In 2003 Charley's Guitar Shop teamed with Rene Martinez to make a few replicas of Stevie's famous white "Charley" guitar with the expensive automotive "flip-flop" paint, lipstick pickups and hula girl on the back. The white/blue flip-flop paint is stunning. There were only about 23 guitars in the first batch with the Charley's logo on the headstock. Other owners of these guitars include Carlos Santana and Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I have one, and the tone is  fantastic. I have one for sale with the Certificate signed by Rene Martinez. Near mint condition. $4500. Beware of the knock-offs posted on eBay from other makers. They are not using the correct paint color, nor are they built by Rene Martinez and Charley's. PIC 1PIC 2PIC 3 Pictures cannot do this guitar justice. The white paint has blue tint when the light hits it. It looks as good as it sounds. Hula girl sticker included.

Stevie's personal items I have two 45 rpm records from Stevie's own record collection. For details click here.

IMPORTANT PIECE OF SRV HISTORY! In February 2000, Stevie Ray Vaughan was elected to the Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame. This is the highest honor for a blues musician that the national organization can award. At the time of his induction, Stevie was one of only 79 blues artists to have been inducted. This is the 12-page program for the event in Washington D.C. These have sold in internet auctions for up to $50.

pstrmusicom.jpg (30916 bytes) EJ 001.jpg (589038 bytes) EJ 002.jpg (576545 bytes)

Eric Johnson signed promo poster - Ah Via Musicom. There were about 30 posters he signed at a record store, and the bottom left corner got wet and they all stuck together. Fortunately, he signed the opposite corner, so the autograph is unaffected. I only have a few left, and of course they are the ones with the most water damage in that one corner. A good framer could easily matte over the damaged area and put a photo or engraved plate over it to make a great presentation. Let me know which one you want and I'll give you a price - the more damage, the less expensive, of course. I'm told the poster itself is difficult to find. It is on heavy stock and the bottom edge is die-cut - very unusual. Counting from the left in the photo, I only have #4 left.
